"work" day

Today was a work day at school, like we do something else the other days:) Anyway, no students. I had a whole long list of things to do, and got a little of it done. I'll take some of it home and probably come in some over the weekend. We'll be starting the new trimester, so I want to change a few things.
Had a Dr's appointment this morning, everything was good. Lowest blood pressure I've had in a while, maybe because of what I did yesterday?
After school Kathi and I went to visit little Elijah, well, his mom, too. He is very small, just at 6 lb, 3 ounces now, and fits in preemie clothes. Good baby, he made lots of funny faces while we were there. Maybe he has bad gas, but looked as if he was reacting to voices around him. Of course, we got to hold him for a while.
I am looking to work on a quilt sometime this weekend, friends of ours have a new granddaughter born Tuesday. Grandpa and Grandma are part of our SuperBowl group.
Also supposed to take Mae to Marie's for a jewelry party. I was invited, but wouldn't go just for me, I don't need jewels and do need $. I will do the good daughter in law thing, though.

At last!

My friend Christy has a baby boy, Elijah Dean, born this afternoon, 6lb6oz all doing well. He is a real answer to prayer and a sign of God's goodness.

I was tagged

Lynne tagged me, but I don't have anyone left to tag. No touchbacks, right? Hope this doesn't spoil the game. Anyway, here is 4th photo, 4th folder and you'll probably recognize it! Em's first birthday.

Nearly 2/3 of school year gone

The older (meaning more experienced, not aged) I get, the quicker the school years start to fly by. There's one more week in this trimester which means 2/3 of the year is gone. How can that be? Spring break is right around the corner as well in case anyone wants a road trip or a visitor! I would like to re-arrange my little room at school, mainly my desk area but wonder how to do that since the phone needs to stay put. Not that I get lots of calls, but I forget to look at it for messages now and if I sit away from it, I'll never look! My next door neighbor, Kathi, said something about changing her room this afternoon when we were sorting bus tickets. Must be something in the air.
My friend Christy, whom we've been praying to keep her baby as long as possible and has been on bed rest has now reached her due date and is still waiting. I told her I'd change how I was praying, maybe you should to if she was on your list! Another fourth grade teacher just announced that she is expecting, all the others are too old. (don't say I said that!!) Nothing much else going on. Some sad news, Mae had to have her dog put down yesterday, he was ill and not doing very well. Dan and Ted are feeling extra bad. I'm sorry, too, but it is one less hurdle to jump to get Mae ready for her move to the elderly housing she's applied for.

Spring??

What season is this? I could get spoiled. Too bad spring makes Laura think bugs, huh? I need a little more rain so the van gets rinsed off a little more.
Good day at school today. Tomorrow I get audited for compliance with special education laws. Ha! tHEY CAN'T SCARE ME! I'm ready.

Almost back to normal

Just a couple more days of testing and I can get back to my "normal" schedule. In 4th grade we are going to do Literature Circles for 2 weeks - there is a student teacher in there so each of the three of us will do a novel with a smaller group. I chose Thunderfoot. It is about a roadrunner with enormous feet because he got bit by a baby rattlesnake. It is written from his point of view and talks a lot about bullying and teasing since he is an outcast because he looks different. I liked it a lot, hope the kids will, too.
We had our pictures taken Tuesday and went out to eat with Chelsey and Greg. That was the highlight of our week because we didn't have choir practice. I'm going to attempt the taxes on Saturday. Keep me in your prayers!
